Palm Beach County – February 13, 2014 –  The Anquan Boldin “Q81” Foundation proudly announces a decade of dedicated service to underprivileged youth.  What started as a two-day event ten years ago with the desire to give back to the Pahokee, Florida community, the Q-Festival Weekend  has now grown to be one of Palm Beach counties most anticipated events drawing upwards of 4,000 participants.  QFest now encompasses a full 3 days of sports and entertainment that draw celebrities, athletes and fans from near and far. 10 years is a milestone of great significance to the Super Bowl Champion wide receiver Anquan Boldin, who established the Q81 Foundation in 2004, his second year in the National Football League.

Q-Festival Weekend

Boldin announces the Annual Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament, officially scheduled for April 10, 2014 at the world renowned PGA National Resort & Spa located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.  In celebration of “10 Years of Q” the Tournament has expanded to two pristine courses at PGA, The Champion Course (home of the Honda Classic) and The Palmer Course.  Boldin with many other NFL Gridiron Greats, professional athletes and celebrity golfers will be in attendance.   A gourmet, VIP BBQ Awards Dinner will follow.

QFest continues with a series of Free to the Public events in Boldin’s hometown of Pahokee, Florida.  Friday, April 11th brings together over 25 of Boldin’s Pals from the NFL, NBA, and WNBA for a legendary Celebrity Basketball Game at Pahokee Middle School beginning at 6:30pm.  The 10th Anniversary 2014 Game brings some new players to the court, including fellow 49ers Teammates’ Colin Kaepernick, Michael Crabtree, and Quinton Patton.  Longtime returning players, include Broncos Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Cardinals Larry Fitzgerald, Ravens  Ray Rice, Colts Darius Butler, and many more to be announced.

QFest wraps up on Saturday, April 12th with “Fun Day in the Park” at the Anquan Boldin Stadium at Noon where Boldin and his Q81 Team provide food, live entertainment, contests, and giveaways. NFL’s Play 60 campaign will also join in on the fun with youth activities that span nearly half the size of a football field.

“It’s exciting to enter 10 years for the Q81 Foundation and for Q-Festival Weekend,” states Boldin.  “QFest is more than just a fun time for me; it is also dear to my heart, because I always wanted to give back to my community that was kind to me when growing up.  We are proud of the learning experiences and growth of this decade and look forward to more years to come.”
